Wed is a relationship and marriage introduction service. This policy applies only to the data handling that is known from the app behavior described in the product and should be updated if business, legal, or backend practices change. 2. Sensitive profile information Some profile and preference fields in Wed may be considered sensitive or highly personal depending on where you live. This can include religion, gender, date of birth, marital status, smoking status, marriage readiness, and your relationship or matchmaking preferences. Wed collects and uses this information because it is part of the service you choose to use for profile creation, introductions, and preference-based matching. Please only provide information that you are comfortable sharing through the app. 4. How we collect data We collect data in several ways: - Directly from you when you sign in with your phone number and OTP, accept legal documents, create or update your profile, set preferences, upload content, chat, send reports, or request account deletion. - Automatically from your device and app use, including app version, platform information, push-token data, notification settings, generated device UID, analytics events, crash information, and similar operational data needed to run the service. - From activity within the service, such as introduction status changes, onboarding or eligibility states, moderation outcomes, banned-account states, accepted legal-document versions, and records needed to support app operation and safety workflows. 5. How we use data We may use data collected through Wed to: - create, authenticate, and manage your account and session; - present legal documents and record which versions you accepted; - create, display, review, and manage profiles and matchmaking preferences; - support introductions between users and enable chat after an introduction is active; - enable uploads, storage, display, and processing of photos, videos, files, and other user content; - send push notifications and other service-related communications; - review reports, close reasons, and other safety signals; - moderate content and accounts, investigate abuse, and enforce rules; - operate, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve app performance and reliability; and - comply with legal obligations and maintain records related to privacy, safety, and enforcement. 6. How data may be shared Wed may share personal data only as needed for the app features described in this policy, including in the following situations: - With other users, where profile information, uploaded media, and chat content are made available as part of introductions, active introductions, and related app flows. - With service providers and SDK providers that support app functionality described here, including push notifications, analytics, crash reporting, secure local storage support, and media or file handling. - With moderators, reviewers, support personnel, or similar operational teams working for Wed to investigate reports, review content, and enforce rules. - With law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties when Wed reasonably believes disclosure is necessary to comply with law, respond to legal process, protect users, investigate fraud or abuse, or enforce these Terms and policies. 7. Notifications Wed uses push notifications to send service-related updates, such as authentication, account, introduction, chat, moderation, and other app-operation messages. To do this, the app may collect and use your push notification token and notification permission status, and may process those through Firebase Cloud Messaging or similar notification delivery services used by the app. You can manage notification permissions in your device settings, but disabling notifications may affect your ability to receive timely updates in the app. 8. Analytics, diagnostics, and third-party SDKs Wed may use third-party SDKs and related services for analytics, diagnostics, and push delivery. Frontend-used examples include Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Cloud Messaging. These services may process data such as app events, screen views, device or app identifiers, installation or service identifiers, app version and platform details, crash logs, diagnostics, push tokens, and similar technical data needed for those services. Third-party providers that process user data for Wed are expected to protect it using safeguards consistent with this policy and applicable law. 9. Moderation, reports, chat, and uploaded content Because Wed supports introductions, chat, media uploads, document uploads, and user reports, the app may collect, store, display, review, and use this content to operate the service and protect users. This includes profile answers, onboarding answers, photos, videos, files, chat messages, report reasons, close reasons, and optional notes. Reports and moderation-related information may be reviewed to investigate complaints, enforce product rules, restrict or ban accounts, respond to abuse, and maintain records about enforcement outcomes. Chat content and uploaded content may also be reviewed when reasonably necessary for safety, abuse prevention, legal compliance, technical support, or enforcement. 10. Local device storage Wed stores some data locally on your device to make the app work properly. This may include your access token, refresh token, generated device UID, accepted legal-consent versions, cached profile media, cached counterpart or introduction profile data, and app preferences or state needed for operation. Some of this data may be stored using secure local storage provided by the app platform or integrated libraries. If you remove the app or clear local app storage, some locally stored data may be removed from your device. 11. Data retention Wed keeps different categories of data for different periods depending on why the data is needed. For example, account data, profile data, introduction records, chat content, uploaded content, legal-consent records, moderation records, and diagnostic records may be kept while your account is active and afterward for as long as reasonably necessary for legal obligations, dispute handling, abuse prevention, fraud prevention, safety review, or recordkeeping. When you delete your account, some data may be deleted or de-identified, while some data may be retained for the reasons described above. 12. Account deletion and privacy rights Wed provides in-app account deletion in the Settings area. You can also revoke app permissions, including notification permissions, in your device settings. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, update of, or deletion of certain personal data, or to ask questions about how your data is handled. You can contact Wed at [email protected] for privacy requests. Wed may need to verify your identity and may keep certain data where necessary for legal, security, technical, fraud-prevention, moderation, or recordkeeping reasons. 13. Security Wed uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure of personal data. However, no app, device, storage method, or internet transmission is completely secure, and Wed cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting access to your phone number, OTP messages, device, and account session. 14. Children / minimum age Wed is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone who is under the minimum age required by applicable law to use the service, or anyone who is otherwise not legally allowed to use the service. If Wed becomes aware that an ineligible person has created an account or provided personal data, Wed may restrict, suspend, or delete the account and take appropriate steps regarding the related data, subject to legal and safety requirements. 15. International transfers Wed and the services used to operate it may process data in countries other than your own. If Wed transfers personal data internationally, it will do so in accordance with applicable law. 16. Changes to the policy Wed may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will be made available in the app and/or at https://wed-app.com/privacy. If a change is material, Wed may present the updated policy in the app and may request renewed acceptance where required. The effective date and version shown at the top of this policy identify the current published version. 17.
