1. Agreement and acceptance
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Wed mobile application and any related services, features, public legal-document pages, and support channels that refer to these Terms. By creating an account, requesting or verifying a one-time password, accepting the presented legal documents, creating a profile, using introductions, chatting in the app, uploading content, or otherwise using Wed, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Wed.
2. Eligibility and account registration
You may use Wed only if you are old enough to use the service under applicable law, are legally allowed to use the service where you are, and are not suspended or banned from Wed. You must register with a phone number you are authorized to use and complete verification by one-time password. You must provide accurate profile and onboarding information, keep that information reasonably up to date, and protect your device, OTP access, and account session. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account unless the law says otherwise.
3. Nature of the service
Wed is a relationship and marriage introduction service. Users can create and manage profiles, submit profile details and matchmaking preferences, upload photos, videos, and files, receive or participate in introductions, and chat after an introduction becomes active. Wed does not promise that you will receive introductions, that any introduction will continue, that any user will respond, or that any interaction will lead to any relationship outcome. Wed also does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, honesty, intent, compatibility, or conduct of any user.
4. User content
You may submit profile information, onboarding answers, photos, videos, files, chat messages, reports, close reasons, and other content through Wed. You keep any rights you have in your content, but you give Wed permission to host, store, reproduce, process, display, transmit, review, moderate, and otherwise use that content as needed to operate the service, provide introductions and chat, investigate reports, enforce these Terms, comply with law, and improve app functionality. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to upload and share the content you submit.
5. Acceptable use
Wed has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You must not submit, upload, display, transmit, or encourage illegal, abusive, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, exploitative, threatening, violent, deceptive, spam, infringing, or otherwise objectionable content or conduct. Users who violate this policy may have content removed, features restricted, accounts suspended or banned, and reports escalated for review.
You must use Wed lawfully, honestly, and respectfully. You must not:
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, age, profile details, intentions, or relationship status;
- upload illegal, abusive, harassing, hateful, sexually exploitative, infringing, deceptive, threatening, violent, or spam content;
- harass, pressure, stalk, intimidate, exploit, scam, or deceive other users;
- send unsolicited bulk messages, repetitive messages, or other spam;
- upload content that violates another person's privacy, publicity, intellectual property, or other rights;
- use Wed for unlawful activity, commercial solicitation not permitted by the service, or any fraudulent purpose;
- interfere with the app, bypass restrictions, probe for vulnerabilities, reverse engineer the service except where the law does not allow this restriction, or use automation to scrape or misuse the service;
- upload malware, harmful code, or content intended to disrupt the service; or
- create a new account to avoid moderation, suspension, or a ban.
6. Chat, introductions, reports, and user interactions
Chat is available only where the product allows it, including after an introduction becomes active. You are responsible for what you say and share in chats and other interactions. Reports and close reasons may be reviewed to protect users, investigate abuse, and enforce these Terms. You are solely responsible for your decisions about interacting with other users, including any decision to continue communication or move off-platform. Wed is not responsible for the actions, statements, or conduct of other users.
7. Moderation and enforcement
To keep Wed safe and functional, Wed may review profiles, onboarding answers, photos, videos, files, chat content, reports, close reasons, device or session signals, and related account activity. Reports of objectionable content or abusive users are reviewed as a safety priority. When Wed confirms a violation, we may remove the content, close or hide the affected interaction, block future introductions with that user, suspend or ban the offending account, and keep records needed for enforcement. We may refuse, limit, remove, hide, or moderate content; limit features; prevent introductions or chats; issue warnings; place accounts into review states; suspend accounts; ban accounts; or report content or behavior where we reasonably believe it is necessary for safety, abuse prevention, legal compliance, protection of users, or enforcement of these Terms.
8. Account deletion, suspension, and termination
You can request account deletion in the app settings. Deletion requests are subject to any data that Wed needs to keep for legal, safety, fraud-prevention, recordkeeping, or technical reasons. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account immediately if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for other users or the service, or used Wed in a prohibited way. If your account is banned or terminated, you must not attempt to return to the service without permission.
9. Privacy Policy
The Wed Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected, used, stored, and disclosed in connection with the service. By using Wed, you also acknowledge the Privacy Policy available at https://wed-app.com/privacy. If these Terms and the Privacy Policy address the same subject, they should be read together.
10. Intellectual property
The Wed app, software, designs, text, graphics, trademarks, logos, and service functionality, excluding user content, are owned by or licensed to Wed and are protected by applicable law. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for its intended personal purpose, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, or create derivative works from the service except as allowed by law or with written permission.
11. Service availability and changes
Wed may change, update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, including profile fields, introductions, chat features, moderation workflows, legal-document presentation, and account status rules. We do not guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, error free, or suitable for every device or user situation.
12. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wed is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Wed does not guarantee availability, delivery of notifications, successful introductions, continued contact between users, compatibility, truthfulness of user content, or any particular result from using the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Wed and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, opportunity, or relationships, arising from or related to Wed, introductions, chats, uploaded content, moderation decisions, user conduct, or off-platform interactions. Any liability that cannot be excluded will be limited to the minimum extent allowed by applicable law.
14. Governing law / disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Egypt, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless applicable law requires otherwise. Any dispute, claim, or controversy relating to Wed or these Terms will be handled in the courts or dispute-resolution forum applicable in Egypt, unless applicable law requires a different forum.
15. Changes to the terms
Wed may update these Terms from time to time. The latest published version will be made available in the app and/or at https://wed-app.com/terms. If the update is material, Wed may ask you to review and accept the new version before you continue using some or all of the service. Your continued use of Wed after the updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms, unless applicable law requires a different form of acceptance.
